The game that is known today as a yo-yo, from the sound that it produces when played, constitutes an enigma for historians, as its ancient name does not exist anywhere, while its older depiction exists on the inside of a Greek red-figure chalice from 500 B.C. and shows a young man playing with this game. The yo-yos of our ancestors were wooden or metal, however, there are also clay yo-yos in our museums that had been offered as homage. Today it appears to be one of the most famous games worldwide, while in Greece it is played with rarely, despite the fact that this is the country that invented it.
